Is AVG Secure Browser really secure?

I’ve been using this browser for a while i use it mainly for handling money business(crypto, stocks) etc, the UI is Nice and i never really had a problem with it but i’ve lately seen some post of people saying that they sell your data and stuff, so i would like some insights and what y’all opinions are about this browser and if maybe i should make the switch and to which y’all recommend.(I use a macbook btw and use safari too but not for handling money business)

Definitely not. General rule of thumb is to stick to major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Edge, Safari)

Google Chrome takes way too much space and is so huge app. I recommend Mozilla firefox

i just use brave and it seems pretty secure

I realize this is a really old post…but, came up when I searched…I did not install AVG by choice, but found all the sudden it was my default browser…uncool…will quickly uninstall it.

I switched browsers because avg secure browser wasn’t the best for me so since i just stick

To google chrome since I’ve been using it for some time.

Just use a browser that you know is safe [i recommend opera GX ;)]

Lol chrome is the absolute king of selling your data. Not even just that, they use it themselves because their business is entirely based on feeding you what you want to hear. If the product is free, it’s not the product.

There is a difference between security and privacy. Google services are generally secure, but not very private…

600MB is a “huge app”? Half a gig in a world of >TB drives? (I’m assuming, of course, that you’re referencing the Windows/MacOS/etc app, not the mobile app)

Just happened to me + it instantly became main browser. Uninstalled it directly.

Yeah same. It pretty sure isn’t secure (Just a reskin of chromium)

Even if you uninstall it, it still hides on your kernel layer, so it can just reappear when it wants
