I’m new to all this VPN stuff, can you use it to buy software licenses in other countries?

I literally don’t really know anything about VPN. Please don’t roast me lol.

I own some businesses and the softwares used to run it are so damn expensive here in the US. I know people use VPN for leisure activities like Netflix, steam, etc.

So I was thinking about doing the same thing as I heard someone runs their business this way.

To give you more insight,

I’m thinking about using vpn so the software will think I’m in India and if i purchase all the tools and softwares with this vpn it will be 10x cheaper!

Is this legal? Could I get in trouble if I do this?

I wanted to get a second opinion on this.
Thank you all for reading and taking the time to respond.

Yes, you can. But you need a credit card billing address in the other country.

Using for business this would be illegal.
Most software for business is licensed in the region it is bought in.

Don’t screw yourself over trying to cheat the system.

I think the licenses will be considered null and void from a legal standpoint. If you buy the software in India then the usage might dictate that it be used within India.

At that point you could just use a thin client machine in India region, no VPN needed.

Interesting. Thank you for your reply.

How this work? Thanks!
