I have used a vpn from US and another one from UK (that I can’t seem to remember name). Neither allows me to play BBC or ITV shows any longer. Is there a work around?
BBC iPlayer works fine using a VPN. Just make sure you are using a UK VPN server.
Are you using a computer or a smartphone?
BBC for sure blocks known VPN, and IP blocks allocated to VPS companies if you were thinking of spinning up one yourself.
It does not make any difference whether your VPN is based in the UK or not, BBC iPlayer and ITV are pretty good at blocking VPNs, I have the same problem, but you can access Channel4.com it has always worked with my VPN and the programming is reasonably good for a free channel. I tried PlutoTV and TubiTV and Plex.tv too with a UK IP, they all work but they do not have as many films as with a US IP.
I purchased a vpn based in the UK after my first vpn failed. It even takes my payment in Sterling!
So. No work around?
There will be some VPNs they are not wise to or someone in the UK on a residential connection. A friend shared their connection for a while.
