How to share my VPN with TizenOS Samsung TV

So i recently bought a Samsung smart TV, and realized that it doesn’t support the Windscribe app. I had a Windows based laptop which supported the sharing function but it’s gone now. Would my Mac be able to function the same way were i to install windows on it using boot camp? Or much better, if there’s a way to configure the UK servers on my router? I’ll be happy to share router specs if that’s required.

You could also proxy the connection. Here’s a tutorial: https://windscribe.com/features/proxy-gateway

If you have a router that supports the openVPN protocol and you don’t care about slower speeds (around 25mbit/s up/down for my TP-Link AX20)
You can set up the wifi router to route the TVs traffic through the VPN.
Or if you are only looking for a temporary solution and you have a rooted Android phone/tablet you can use the VPN hotspot app and connect the TV that way.

You can configure sharing on your Mac in OSX, or at least you could back in 10.5. it was much easier than Windows at the time, but I don’t know if that’s still true.

So if i configure that would that mean that I’ll have to always leave my Mac connected to the TV?

I have a Nokia router with an airtel 5G connection (i live in India) could that method work with this equipment?

Could you tell me how you manged that, or direct me to a website or something, cause this seems like the easiest method

Not physically but yeah, with a proxy, so the tv routes the traffic through the proxy set by the computer.

Just make sure you have a good signal and keep your computer near by.

I don’t know that router. But if this router was provided by your ISP it probably won’t support the VPN protocol and you need a different one. (I currently use the TP-Link AX20 and I am satisfied with it).

Like I said, I did this back in the PowerPC days, so I’d just have to do the same research you would in order to find instructions. Just search for instructions on how to share a connection, then turn the VPN on and it should route the shared connection. Be sure to test this though, rather than just assuming all of your traffic is being routed.

Ah okay i get it now tysm!

So i can essentially just buy a third party router that supports vpn configurations and route my wifi through that right?

I have no idea what a power PC is but i think i understand your method! Thank you so much for helping! :hugs:

This is perfect thanks so much man! :hugs:
