You can try enabling the web ui for qbittorrent then accessing the webui on your phone or another device. Then on that 2nd device go to that link and download the torrent file to your device. Then go to the qbittorrent webui and add the torrent with the plus button and it will begin downloading on qbittorrent.
Just on your VPN make sure lan traffic is still allowed.
Then you should be able to check that website on your phone and it will auto update to show the IP that the torrent client is using.
