They seem to have implemented data limit the last 6 months for me. I haven’t tested with precision but it stops quite predictably for me at this point. It doesn’t work again until the following day. Changing server doesn’t make a difference

You are such a jerk, I can’t believe. You get free vpn service, and you still want more. Do you realize company pays for these servers with MONEY? And they are not entitled to provide you free service at all. I swear you people are irredeemable.
I have been using the free version for a year now, its great. There are no ads, and with the free version you can connect to VPNs in the US (random state), EU (netherlands only) and East Asia (japan only) but honestly that’s all the flexibility I want. The speed is fine, I can stream movies and download stuff no problem with no limits. If you’re having a speed problem, try switching the server. The only limit is one device at a time per account, but you can make unlimited accounts for free…
So far, it has done everything I’ve needed with no shortcomings.
They monetize by offering cloud storage, and even more flexibility with their VPN with a lot more countries and other options that I don’t really understand or need, but clearly some people do.
I think that’s an uneducated comment we see on Reddit a lot. My friend in cybersecurity uses proton vpn free and she’s paranoid of literally everything. Won’t even have social media
There’s no catch, there’s only rules and terms. How they enforce them is beyond our knowledge, I’m just here telling you this because I’ve seen it happening and people then saying “I didn’t know”. Well, now you know.
