You can’t: because the updates are meant to plug vulnerabilities and bugs in software or the core services themselves. Using an outdated version would potentially put you and your entire network at risk. Breaches/leaks/malware etc etc. if the most up to date version don’t work for you then I would probably try another provider.
Actually just have a reason to downgrade but just CAN’T because of such stupid policy from Proton. “We’re open source but we delete all of the old version releases from Github”. Guys at Proton, are you okay? In latest update I’m unable to set connection protocol in macOS client to any other option than IKEv2. And now I want to downgrade app to fix this issue instead of waiting for a fix in the next version. But it’s so difficult to find older version online FOR NOT A SINGLE REASON!
Or the person can use the WireGuard configs provided by Proton. You should never forget to list out all options available
Hi! We’d just like to mention that, as a general practice, we discourage against using older versions of our applications, as new versions may contain security updates and bug fixes that are not available in older versions.
Yes that’s true as well. Manually set it up as well.
You broke protocol selection with 4.4.0 version. Will you still advocate from using older versions after that?
There’s bound to be a lot of people wanting to downgrade after they updated and found that instead of being able to choose from 30+ servers in 3 different countries, they’re now limited to a single communal server in the US that’s always at 75%+ load.
I can understand wanting to tempt people to subscribe but that’s insanely extreme.
se olvidan de mencionar en en nuevas versiones arruinan por completo la experiencia de los usuarios que no pagan por su programa, ya que no deja elegir el servidor.
I use Mullvad. I trust it because they got raided by the cops and the cops found nothing. Cops left empty handed. I can’t say the same for Proton VPN yet.
