Host created a VPN connection for me, but it's read-only?

SOLVED

OpenVPN, linux client, Windows server

I asked my web host for a VPN connection so I can stop using FTP to edit files. I’m able to connect, and I’m using a login with access to the relevant drive, but it’s read only. Is this an issue with the VPN setup, permissions on the folders, or with the client? I don’t know what I don’t know.

I’ve gone through the Windows “Routing and Remote Access” panels, but I can’t find anything there, so I don’t know how the VPN is setup.

SOLVED: It was folder permissions. They weren’t set up correctly on the server.

If you can get to it, it isn’t the VPN

Permissions on the folders most likely. You’re not really telling us what software or protocol you’re using to access the files. Just that you’re using a VPN to carry your network traffic.

It was permissions. They weren’t set up correctly.

Is that not it?
