Help on playing Paladin thru VPN

My uni’s internet blocks most ports, but I can get around those by using free PPTP VPN with Windows (since VPN applications like Hotspot Shield are also blocked). I can play Dota 2 and LOL without much problems just by using FinchVPN. However when I downloaded Paladin via Steam (through VPN) it never connects. It stays stuck on the initial screen after login, showing “waiting for server” or something while the top right shows that game servers are up. I uninstalled the Steam version and got the separate client, which does not even begin the proper download once launched.

OpenVPN gives terrible ping for Dota and LOL so I didn’t even bother trying.

Can anyone help me with VPN? Maybe recommend a free service, or a workaround?

EDIT : I solved it by reinstalling the game. I had to uninstall it completely, including the HiRez patcher and everything, then redownload i through steam. Then it worked through PPTP VPN.

I got the same problem dude, did you find a solution?

Maybe try using ZenMate? You can keep making free trial accounts for 7 days premium with throw away emails!

Yes I did, I’ll update the post
I uninstalled the whole thing, including the HiRez Patcher and everything
Then installed it through steam
Then it started working through inbuilt VPN

Software based VPN don’t work :frowning: I’ve tried Finch, Hotspot Shield and TunnelBear
