What did they replace the A5505 with? If the current firewall/router can handle VPN then that’s obviously the easy answer.
I just wish there was an easy way to log access attempts
I set it up to only accept PKI certificates, no password authentication allowed.
The user has to have a certificate installed on the machine to be able to connect. This way we also have some control over what machines can connect.
For company owned machines the certs get automatically installed through group policy. For personal ones we can manually generate one and install it.
So a phished password doesn’t let an attacker in, and users don’t have to remember yet another password.
Still, what is their sector? Do they have to worry about HIPAA as a public health org? Do they provide financial assistance? Look at the complacency first.
Very easy to manage and set up. Support is
great too.hit and miss.
I’ve yet to meet anybody who had a remotely complex config that had glowing reviews of SW support. Most feedback of others I have met that supported them and had much experience with other vendors varied from meh to awful. I’ve migrated some SonicWalls to PAN and while there are a few things that were better on SonicWall (e.g. reboot times) the support wasn’t something I ever missed from SonicWall.
Well done, thank you for sharing that.
no they dont have to HIPAA compliant or anything. There are muslim charitable organization and a mosque in Toronto, Canada.
They have their own sets of audits they go thru internally and externally
I actially found SW support to be extremely helpful 90% of the time (old job was a sonicwall reseller).
PAN
I’ve heard PAN is pretty good, I’ve never got my hands on one though.
