So, I know MS introduced this bug around a year ago (great timing) whereby if I have VPN client software running, the internet speed drops to ~1Mbps…
I’m told they fixed it, but I still have a few users affected…
I have updated their systems to 20H2, with all updates.
I have updated their Sonicwall VPN client software to the latest.
I have installed all ThinkPad driver updates.
And yet, a few users are “running slow” whenver the VPN software is running (running, doesn’t have to be connected.)
Does anyone have a solution?
Running the .diagcab file fixed this issue for me, but since that link looks dead I would try disabling the RSC manually.
Disable netrsc on the NIC and it should fix it. We run into this all the time.
Run disable-netadapterrsc on the interface and reboot. Problem has been so prevalent it’s part of our imaging process.
Also remove the DNS from the client settings on the sonicwall side. (Not netextender)

We had this problem on over a dozen Surface laptops. Took forever to narrow it down and we almost lost the client over it.
