This happened to me and I’m in Arizona so that’s fuckin weird.
If you are causing a cellular device then it is routing the internet traffic through a cell tower located in VA?
Every time I hear this complaint I think the same thing my WiFi isn’t blocked then I realize that these people are jerking it mobile. I just hope they have bad home internet and aren’t cranking it in a dennys parking lot or something
I have had this. Sometimes it will pop Virginia for me, sometimes MD. I’ve found if I close/ restart the app or change to a private / unprivate window, it will sometimes figure out I’m in Maryland and calm down.
During the dot com era I worked in a startup that bought some off the shelf networking software.
We were puzzled that we could not reach any of the Virginia government web sites, despite being located in the state.
Our network guy eventually figured out, and confirmed with the company that their software was filtering on any domain name that had the substring “virgin” in it.
Same, when I’m on cellular data I get the Virginia bullshit. When I’m on home wifi it doesn’t though.
Use a vpn. Also turn off wifi cuz Verizon has almost all of us showing in Virginia. If mobile data still says so turn off and back on. Annoying af and I feel bad for anyone in VA that uploads their ID for their history to be tracked LOL

I pay for a vpn so I have access.
Sometimes if you turn on airplane mode it resets the location and might work.
If you drive through VA it sometimes doesn’t update.
I’d suggest using a vpn to get around this
are you using an iphone? try turning off private relay

happened when I was using my mobile network accidentally. Connected to back to my home network and was fine
Idk if it’ll work but if you have one you could try using a vpn
I’m in DC on the border with MD and it happens to me all the time. It’s so annoying. I started using a vpn.
I just turn off my WiFi and I’m good, btw I’m in virginia
They actually banned a porn site in a state and you actually can’t go to it if your phone is from that state??
