Would these Routers/Firewalls be a good tool to use as a means to defending small businesses and managing their networks?
While the firewalla is targeted to this sector, which provides powerful function with simple configuration, you may still wish to make up your mind as to what network security/management you are looking for before we can actually tell whether it fits your needs.
I’m using two at different business and they are great. But only if you do not need IPsec based site to site vpn. This is a major problem for me and might need to change if they don’t support it soon.
I can only hope your “consultation” services are more in-depth at eliciting the requirements from your potential clients based on your post. You’ve made no mention of number of clients, VPN support, reporting, and other network needs.
In skimming through your post history, my recommendation would be not to touch this as a side project, as this someone else’s business, and you likely do not have the liability coverage or experience to offer professional services should something go wrong.
