Current state of Mikagu browser extension and vpn

So I’m fast approaching the end of Tango N5 and I’m wondering whats the current state of the Migaku browser extension, from people using it and not from those who made it. Also looking for a good VPN to use for Netflix, as I was using Ipvanish and my renewal is coming up this month (swear I couldn’t have got the timing right for this transition right if I intended to lol) and they are one of the ones who have shown they don’t care at trying to stay ahead of their recent crusade to lock out vpns.
I’ve got Tango N4 lined up along with the deck and some games just incase.

Not sure if you’re asking for reviews of it or something but personally I can say it has been an absolute gem. A pain in the arse to set up but once that’s out the way you’re golden

Heads up, I’m using nordvpn and it totally does not work with Netflix. 0% success rate. Only shows you netflix originals.

Its great. Well worth the 5 USD / MO. I hear they’re working on making it even easier to use.

I have been having great success with WeVPN. Since I have gotten it, Netflix Japan has worked great. Maybe like 2-3 weeks ago, it started suddenly showing Netflix Originals only and after a few days, there was an update to WeVPN and I got the full library again

I used it in the beginning but found Anacreon’s mpv script much better and less clunky. That’s all you need, with some good sources to get your content (no need for Netflix then).

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but what does Migaku actually do? I went to the website and all they told me is how great it is to learn a language and how cool immersion is. I tried reading about it on another site, and I just got spammed with payment options and biographies of the development team. Seriously, what does the extension actually do?

The Migaku browser extension is fucking godlike. Can’t imagine not having it. 10/10 worth

I asked about it in an update video on YouTube and someone told me to hold off, that was a few months ago.
Just need a good vpn then.

Thats been my situation for a few weeks. About 1 out of 10 times, after rebooting and picking a different VPN server in Japan, I’ll see Japanese shows. I’ll pick a show to watch, and almost immediately, I get the message about an error because I’m using a VPN.

For what it’s worth, I share a Netflix account with my family, so maybe Netflix just notices that someone is already watching on my account from a US ip address. I’m curious if anyone has had better luck using a dedicated account.

NordVPN has been a hassle for me lately as well but thankfully it still works with enough trial and error. Switching through servers and restarting my chrome usually does the trick, but it’s def not worth paying for anymore tbh unless this gets fixed up… I’ve heard Netflix has been cracking down on a lot of VPNs lately too >_>

Setup wasn’t too bad imo

I’ll be doing a lot of the first time watching of content at work on my phone, Netflix is easier that converting and loading and unloading my phone.

What exactly is the difference in workflow? Cuz I’m also using animecards with Anacreon and find it super easy, wondering how migaku is different (aside from you not having to… acquire free anime)

The browser extension is hidden behind the patreon barrier at the moment. Here’s the initial video about it…
