Connect roku TV to wireguard network?

I’m trying to access Jellyfin on my Roku TV on a remote LAN. I am using my raspberry pi currently as a wireguard client, and was wondering how I would be able to give the roku tv the ip of the raspberry pi and have the pi relay all of the data from the wireguard network?

Stupid simple setup and “just works”.

Is there a way for me to leave the TV and raspberry pi on the same wifi network (my home network) and simply just the raspberry pi’s IP address in the Jellyfin client on the roku tv? I’d prefer to avoid connecting the TV to an SSID generated by the Pi.

Hey, ever figure this out?

You could probably do that with some routing gyrations on your side, and assuming that everything at the far end of your WG tunnel can be configured to accommodate.

unfortunately not, but i believe you can set up a router with openWRT to have a wireguard subnet and use those IPs to access your home network, should you need to avoid port forwarding.

i just bit the bullet and ended up getting a free noip domain with caddy and port forwarding.

if neither of those are an option i think what you’d like is called packet masquerading. there’s a few tutorials online for doing this kind of thing with a vpn but i could personally never get it to work and properly setting up a domain name ended up being easier. lmk if you have any other questions though

Gotcha. I actually started playing around with RaspAP at the remote location. I can set up things like Roku TV to use the Raspberry Pi’s SSID, and it seems to be about the same speeds, or actually, maybe even faster because there’s not a lot of devices on it? It might actually make sense to me from a security point of view to have this other wireless network that I connect to if there’s a need to access my home network.
