Chiaki with PS5 on VPN

Hi everyone, I have a bit of a weird setup and I was hoping for some help to get Chiaki working on my Nintendo Switch. I have my PS5 connected to my PC with an Ethernet cable, and my PC is sharing the VPN connection.

On the official PS Remote Play app I can connect and play just fine with minimal issues, but the Switch doesn’t support the official app so I have to use Chiaki.

If I use a separate Ethernet cable plugged directly into the router to the PS5, Chiaki actually works locally and auto detects and can connect to my PS5, which is expected since they’re actually on the same network now.

I have tried to remotely connect to my PS5 using my real IP address and my VPN’s IP, neither of which worked. I also have enabled making my PC discoverable on my network in my VPN (I use Mullvad), so maybe I can point my switch to my PC in the network?

If anyone has any experience with this please let me know as the switch with Chiaki when I tested without the VPN was probably the best experience I’ve had in terms of screen size and color.

I’m not too sure about your particular setup but what I do is use Tailscale VPN with a PC as my exit node. This allows me to connect to my PS4 with the local IP from anywhere

So the way I do it on my oled is PS5 is ethernet connected. I set up chiaki like with the info and stuff and it just worked. Make sure on your switch your using 5ghz WiFi. I did port forwarding on my router to use my switch on chiaki 9n different WiFi to my ps5 too. Which did take time to set up and a few errors on my part as never did port forwarding before but got it to work in the end.

The ports I used was

UDP 9302 (PS5 only!)
UDP & TCP 9295
UDP 9296
UDP 9297

No need for a VPN bro. Like it’s using Sony servers switch can’t get banned
