I stupidly opened cracked software that came with the Avira VPN software which activated Adame Ransomware and encrypted all files on my laptop and USB drive.
I’m trying to remove any malware installed by installing SpyHunter, putting the laptop (Windows 10) into Safe Mode and scanning for the malware. Will then remove the malware and then do a system restore to get my files back. I’m hoping this will work. The USB drive is not a priority.
Anyone got any other recommendations?
But beware of cracked software for VPNs especially Avira.
