Tunnel Bear works great. It is $9 a month but if you can afford to pay for a year it’s actually less.

All the VPN and other providers like Mint Mobile are moving to these schemes to get you to pay more upfront and give you a discount upfront. Many things in the world actually work this way, it’s Americans or North Americans that aren’t used to this idea.
