I recently setup a WireGuard VPN server at home using pivpn, and it gave me an idea. Obviously, a VPN server running on a raspberry pi isn’t going to change my home router/ISP’s location. But if I were to set up a VPN server at a family member’s house in another part of the state, could I then use that server to get around my local region’s sports blackouts?
yes, you have two routers. one at the destination location and it accepts a vpn connection from your home router. all traffic from your home router needs to go to the destination and it will act as a relay.
yes and if you have a router with enterprise features or you can ssh into it, then you can set up split tunneling so that only specific connections to specific sites / ips go via that tunnel
