Can anyone suggest a free VPN on Firefox?

NO.

i mean the tor browser, whic is developed by the tor project.

you ABSOLUTELY want to use the tor browser to access tor. any other method would MASSIVELY increase how easy it is to finger print you, while torbrowser is designed to minimize it as much as possible by default.

tor browser is also one of the VERY VERY few browsers, that is NOT spyware.

look up more explanations on the difference between the tor browser and the tor project.

thank you! ill try to check the company too

(such as NordVPN (which is Android, MacOS and iOS only))

So you’re saying all these years that I was running NordVPN on my windows PC and on my DD-WRT router, it wasn’t really Nord???

AdGuard VPN is worth a shot

can you send the link for tor browser download?

everytime I search that, it results back to tor project

The trial version of NordVPN is Android, MacOS and iOS only.

thank you ill look into it

this is the official dl link, that i went to from the “about” section the torbrowser:

https://www.torproject.org/download/

it is worth noting, that if you are on gnu + linux, then you have access to an official (important) flatpak, that will manage the downloading and shit instead and be a safe source from your distro’s software page.

and YES the torbrowser gets downloaded from the torproject website.

it is developed by the torproject and in this case this software has the torproject as the source to download it.

and i again want to stress again, that you should NEVER solely rely on a reddit link to download a browser.

I don’t see why you think that, unless you don’t think ‘trial’ is akin to ‘30-day money back’. Before purchasing, I installed their windows software and had a 30 day trial before committing to purchase.

From their site:

30-day money-back guarantee

Enjoy full access to the award-winning VPN completely risk-free. If you are not 100% satisfied, tell us within 30 days of buying NordVPN and get a full refund.

I understand your concern but here’s a thing

how should I know which link I’m supposed to find that they’re talking about?

Anyway I tried this and even went to support.toproject.org (don’t click it)
they’re blocked by my ISP, connection Timed out

You pay for the whole thing alright.

My assumption in this case is that the OP might not have, dunno, 60 bucks(?) to spend for a year’s deal, because in fact you do make a purchase and they will take your money, and if you’re not satisfied, then they give you your money back. That’s not a trial alright, that’s what is more akin to “Return policy”.

NordVPN offers an actual free 7-day trial, without you having to pay a dime. On their website they say that it is Android only: https://support.nordvpn.com/Billing/1894118672/Does-NordVPN-have-a-free-trial.htm Unfortunately, I mixed the Surfshark trial version with NordVPN, the former of which has the MacOS and iOS options as well: https://support.surfshark.com/hc/en-us/articles/360026123554-Do-you-offer-a-free-trial-

In these two cases, your card isn’t charged, but in the 30-day money-back quarantee your card is charged, be it 5 days or 29 days.

Maybe this person has money to make an subscription and then get a refund: I don’t know, but if someone is looking for a free VPN, then my assumption is that that individual does not want to spend any kind of money: even if that money is returned.

you wrote TOprojectdotorg if that is what is actually blocked, then that could theoretically be, because the isp is actually blocking a scam website, that tries to look like a torproject website.

what you wrote WITH an r is a subdomain or whatever or the torproject website.

so assuming, that you actually made a typo here, but wrote the correct name for the support link, the i would GUESS, that the isp is an evil shit, that is blocking access to the torbrowser, because the feds where you are are trying to prevent people’s access to anonymous browsing the web and getting around censor blocks, etc…

in almost all cases isps do dns level blocks, which are easily gone around through using a custom dns server.

i use the cloud flare dns server for example.

which is 1111 1001

it is generally adviced to NOT use the default isp dns server for may reasons, the dns level censorship being one of those, but not the only reason.
and worth noting, that using a different dns server, that is NOT censored does NOT mean, that the isp can’t spy on what you are browser without the tor network or a real vpn.

this is especially worth noting in the worst dystopian places.

so i would suggest to you to look up a guide (it isn’t hard) for your os to use a custom dns server, restart your browser (to clear the dns cage) and then see if the tor website, that i linked and should come up at least as the first link by real search engines to have some basic check instead of just my link works then.

the manual inside the torbrowser also mentions:

If you’re unable to download Tor Browser from the official Tor Project website, you can instead try downloading it from one of our official mirrors, either through EFF or Calyx Institute. (both mirrors have hyper links in them, but having 2 hyperlinks in a comment might get the comment shadowbanned on reddit)

this would be the eff mirror from the torbrowser manual:

https://tor.eff.org/

if it works and shows up for you here.

that link is also blocked
I live in middle-east so our ISP doesn’t wanna know what’s happen to other places that is useless.

so I need ot change my DNS

its weird to see it being referred to as torbroswer, isnt it supposed to be onion
