Can a VPN fully block my isp

I want to access totally legal websites but I only have one strike left with my ISP can a vpn 100% block them from knowing what websites I’m on?

Just make sure you activate kill switch and you will be able to access these ”legal” websites without your ISP’s knowledge

If you’re on a PC I suggest configuring firewall to only allow VPN if you wanna be anal about it(many killswitches from various VPN apps suck).

If you unsure how to do it, try to google a little, can’t explain that in few short sentences.

Yes. With a vpn your isp has no clue what you’re using your internet for they just know you’re using it. Get one and make sure to activate the kill switch so if for some reason your vpn disconnects your internet is blocked

Thanks to all of you for your help I am looking at vpns right now thank you all so much

“totally legal websites”

What happened that caused earlier strikes with the isp?

My question would be, is there no competition in your area?

I hate it, when ISP’s try to bully you. I mean, they are doing their due diligence, and such, I suppose, but it just feels like cyber harassment to me.

Definitely get a VPN, set it into kill switch mode, so if the VPN drops, your traffic stops… and if they keep harassing you, look into other providers.

Satlink works pretty much everywhere, even in my state…N.C… in areas hit by the storm, it’s pretty much the only thing that’s working… It’s pricy, though. 120 a month, after equipment cost. Hits about 150 megs in my area. I’m not saying that they won’t uphold the letter of the law, and such… I’m just saying, you’re in a toxic relationship with your ISP… it doesn’t hurt to look for other options.

Yes. It obfuscates totally your activities. It all goes through the vpn tunnel

all of this, and also make sure your ISP isnt managing your DNS - if they are the ISP will still know where you’re going

If I wanna be what about it?

I pirated 137 games only six set off their flags I don’t know my isp knew until it was the last strike

I can’t get other providers I’m just a teen

That’s hardly the “point” of a vpn. I use one to remotely access my network so I can access my private servers without exposing them to potential bad actors

Sorry about that thanks for clarifying

You have no doubt in your ignorance. Having no doubt that the earth is flat doesn’t make it so. I have no doubt your head is up your ass.

Can you explain this more?

Kill switch is a feature that most VPNs have. When enabled, if your VPN connection drops, kill switch will disable your internet to protect you

Diddy slides, well lubricated, into your DMs…

Hey sorry I missed your question. If using a VPN that should be enough to prevent the OP from future problems, but your ISP will still know what sites you’re visiting if you’re relying on them for your DNS, which is kind of like a ‘phone book’ that tells you what IP address is associated with a domain name. You can run your own recursive DNS with pihole/unbound if you wanted, or just use cloudflare DNS at 1.1.1.1

Generally you can change your DNS server on your router or on the computer/device you’re using but I can’t help you with that

Use a service like ipleak.net to check your IP and for DNS leaks. If you have 1.1.1.1 set as your DNS provider it should list that in DNS servers and not your ISP
