I want to watch playoff hockey wherever and whenever I want using the nhl app. Are there any VPNs that I can get that work on both my phone and computer? Thank you!
Try Yonder.tv, worked phenomenally for me earlier this season. Most sites are getting wise to VPN.
I tried a VPN with the NHL app last season but it didn’t work. I believe the app uses GPS somehow to determine your location. I still got the blackout message even with Norton VPN.
I’ve used yonder tv, but it definitely doesn’t work on the phone app since it requires gps locating. It has worked for my Xbox, but it has caused issues with the espn app so I have to switch it off.

I’ve used Express VPN a few times. I live in Spain so have absolutely zero blacked games because no broadcaster (or even just…people) in this country cares about hockey. But I travelled to America and lo and behold couldn’t watch a game I wanted. I whacked express VPN on and as long as I hadn’t touched the NHL app right before I did that, it worked fine. This was November last year though.

I use private internet access and it works fantastic. Didn’t miss a single game all season!
In past years the NHL has removed all blackouts for the playoffs. Not sure if they are continuing with it this year. But it has been a normal thing since I started using gamecenter.

The NHL app uses GPS location and a VPN doesn’t fix it.
You can use a VPN on a PC though.

I’m late to the party, but I use express VPN and it works flawlessly. Watching the exhibition game right now where I’m supposed to be blacked out.
I use smartdnsproxy, and it’s worth it.
Stay away from Tiger VPN. After 3 years with them, they decided to charge me 6 times at the beginning of 2020. I tried to contact support multiple times to ask why with no response. I cancelled the paypal auto payments to make sure that they didn’t do it again in Feb and they immediately disabled my account. So, they pretty much stole 5 payments from me and wont respond to any emails. Crooks.
I have express vpn. The New York one didn’t work for me but I changed it to the Washington one and it is working fine. Don’t know why
Yonder has worked very well for me for NHL.tv and mlb.tv. I loaded it directly to my router and have had 0 issues.

On Phones and tablets the NHL app uses your GPS, VPN doesn’t work.
Computers it works great though.
What device were you watching on? From my understanding, if you are using a phone on mobile data, it uses GPS.
You can turn off location services for specific apps which should prevent that from happening.
