For antivirus windows defender in recent years it has become a good AV, unlike what people say, use it. For the phone it is enough that you use a vpn when you use free wi fi, don’t install third party apk and always check the reliability of a site.

For antivirus, what’s your laptop Os? For mobile, you can go for Kaspersky free app. Or Bitdefender.

+ When you use free VPN or antivirus basically you are the product. They are collecting your data and selling it for profit. That is the reason it is provided to you for free.
+ Paid VPN like ExpressVPN, ASTRILL are good. Even, then you can never be sure as to what they are collecting and selling about you.
+ For antivirus you need to mention the OS on your phone.

‘Best’ really depends upon what you wanna use it for. For myself, purevpn seems to be getting the job done quite well, i use it for general privacy stuff and torrenting/streaming
