Do you get good speeds for torrenting? My net connection isn’t the best but I will get 4-5 mbs on popular torrents sometimes… Actually my net works better at times with pia on which makes little sense to me.
I noticed that too about them being busted by those services… I don’t like that sorta stuff either. They upped mine 20 bucks… I don’t think I had the double billing issue tho. Last year if was affordable the year before that they tried this crap again.
I have never used one… I have always been one of those people to just stick with what I know till it stops working or gets too expensive or aggravating. The way I understand them… they dl the torrents and then you grab them from there? Do they work as well as just torrenting and are all the same things available? SOrry I don’t know a lot about them or how they work… are they around the same price.
If a VPN service is free, they gotta make the money somewhere. It’s probably from logging and selling your data so I would never trust a free VPN.
I have heard that one isn’t the best for torrenting… no free one is from what I have heard… could be wrong tho… if I am someone correct me.
Yes I can teach you how to disable Win updated. Install Linux. If you don’t want to learn anything about it, pick Mint or Ubuntu. If you only care for browsing and videos (and adjacent stuff, we are still in a piracy sub) there is nothing in Linux that will stop you from doing it. No need to really learn anything at all (although you can put some time into it).
It seems more like you are hardware incapable.
Also Windows 8.1 was made exclusively for touch screen devices as it’s talking point. Which is why more people hate it than most Windows OS.
OP, does the Win 10 PC uses HDD? this might be reason why it gets slower and slower.
Try get a SSD, its not expensive.
Yup. The major downside of lower cost than Proton or AirVPN.
If you can’t afford 2.5$/m then you simple can’t afford a vpn, there isn’t any cheaper than that
A list of all current known drawbacks of Linux
- It doesn’t natively support games as well as Windows does
That’s it, that’s the whole list.
I have a 1gb connection I’m downloading at 800mb it’s a decent vpn that why I’ve be there all these years
Most of the time whatever torrent you want is already cached and ready to download at full speed. It works better than torrenting even if that file isn’t already downloaded yet.
A debrid sub is about 2-3euro a month or 16euro for 6 months. Way cheaper than most VPNs.
Free one doenst support Torrent, but the paid yes.
I would LOVE to know how to stop the update crap. I would put 10 on a new build if I could do that I believe. I know im gonna have to eventually…i have upgraded that 7 pc as much as possible. It still works really well even though i got it over a secade ago. I’d rather use 7 but I can’t install the latest editions of stuff like qbtorrent on it. I have thought of building a new one many times but the thought of 10 on it and it randomly shutting down and making it slower has always stopped me.
Also yes browsing and torrenting is basically all I use it for now. Used to play a lot of fsx but haven’t in years. I have been told Linux could be a good option. It supports some games too the way I understand it.
My 10 pc isn’t the greatest no. That said I have made no changes to it other than the changes made by update. It used to work fine to browse and watch Netflix. Now it doesn’t. That’s it. Somehow with me making no changes or installing anything it’s managed to slow itself to a crawl. It has caused me a lot of other issues related to just randomly shutting down as well to update. That’s my issue with it.
Windows 8.1 was not bad but not best as anyone says. Its sometimes ligher than 7 alone and boots quicker on a SSD. Windows 11 is the most sucked OS today after Vista.
I have it on a old aio my parents had I upgraded and put a ssd in…it isn’t touchscreen tho. Its got 8.1 pro on it actually.
I have paid 29.99 a year for past 5 years…I will end up paying for something but I’d rather not spend more than I have to. I got a deal for 2.03 for 2 yrs will prlly go with that. I just didn’t wanna have to shell out for 2yrs worth.
I know there seem to be a lot of people in support of it. I like that it isn’t windows. I hate what they have become. I don’t know a lot about it but I have been recommended to try it with something like mint about a million times it seems. Not doing a lot of gaming it probably would be a good option.
