I have searched and found old posts, has anyone found a reliable way to autostart Nord when turning a firestck on? I have auto-connect set up, but I must manually run Nord for this to connect.
I wondered whether the Appstore prevents apps from doing this so maybe it would need to be a separate apk installed with third party sources enabled. Thanks
I have the auto-connect feature on too, it doesn’t seem to work instantly, however, it seems to work after a few minutes (maybe up to 10) and the Nord app boots up.
Amazon blocked autostart (by launching another app) ages ago. This used to work with Wolf Launcher, but now the Firestick will only boot to its own home screen. I can still use Wolf Launcher by doing a single click on the icon which I have placed on the home screen.
Do you mean if you turn it on and leave it up to 10 mins, Nord does autoconnect without running it? If I run Nord manually after powering on, it will auto-connect the VPN immediately. I just wondered about having the app run automatically to get around geoblocks.
I have a couple of apps installed on my firestick that autostart, they are third party installed apps (not from the appstore) and in their settings this function can be turned on and off. I had hoped something similar might exist for Nord, or a third party app launcher. I haven’t rooted the stick, I just turned on the option to allow installation of other apps and used Downlaoder to install them.
It seems like if left a few minutes, the VPN does connect itself, there is no notification though so you need to go int other app to confirm it is connected.
Indeed. Nord will still auto boot in the background at start for me. It does take a minute or so to do so after you restart the Firestick. You can configure Nord to auto start in Nord settings.
Thanks I will try restarting and waiting a few mins to see what happens. I couldn’t see any option to autostart in my Nord settings (installed from Firestick appstore), I have enabled auto-connect though.
