Any recommended VPN for business use?

Company is fully remote, no main office for hardware VPN to connect to. Only needed for a few international employees that have trouble accessing certain websites in the USA.

Perimeter 81 for VPN, SASE, and ZTNA.

If you have an Azure presence their VPN is actually very fast. The windows app client is the worst part. We really liked Perimeter81 but the performance across the US wasn’t great.

ExpressVpn I believe.

ProtonVPN or NordLayer

If you’re an MSP you’re looking for SASE/ZTNA, not VPN but for VPN those two are on my okay list.

ZeroTier. Small learning curve but very affordable and even free with their hosting for 25 or under nodes.

I deploy Tailscale for our users and I love it!

2nd comment here.

I need a recommendation for a new VPN as well. As much as I love Tailscale, I want to browse around for something less expensive. Here are my requirements:

  • All users can be managed by an admin.
  • 25 users
  • 1 exit node in the USA
  • <$4/user/month

These users are not needing access to any resources. They only use it to secure their connection to the internet from coffee shops, hotels, and other public networks. I know it might sounds silly with HTTPS/TLS, but it’s just a regulatory compliance thing which makes those leaders happy.

Thanks!

Something like a small VPN-server (openvpn/wireguard)? Shouldnt need something expensive like in the realm of 5-10€ per month?

If you don’t want to deal with routing your data through 3rd parties, deploy your own server with Access Server. If that isn’t an issue and having something managed is enticing, go with CloudConnexa. Both from OpenVPN.

To be very honest, NONE! None of the VPNs provide you the security and privacy you deserve apart from a White Label VPN that you create specifically for your business.

We use it and it’s a great product, but I do wonder if there’s a similar product which costs less. I’m not convinced that a VPN should cost ~$10/user/month

Was looking at traditional VPN services as the client has no hardware to host an exit node. But this is for just a couple users so might try hosting the exit myself.

As much as $4 per user a month sounds good! Sadly I don’t thin there is for that price, let alone for 25 users :frowning: I’ve been looking myself.

Cloudflare Zero Trust is free for < 50 users and you can host the server wherever you want. You do have to run your own exit node but that also allows you to access things with non-public IPs (like in an AWS VPC).

if you want to protect your company resources you can try zenVPN.
