Android PIA App Stops Functioning

Debug Code ID: UTE90

I’m experiencing the same error I have had for a month or two. PIA is enabled on my Android phone. Eventually I lose connectivity while the PIA VPN is enabled. As soon as I disable the PIA VPN, connectivity is restored. Doesn’t matter if it’s home wifi, enterprise wifi, or cellular signal.

It’s a little frustrating that I haven’t seen any news that this is a high priority bug being worked on. I can’t use the service I paid for.

If this bug doesn’t get fixed in a timely manner, would I be able to receive a prorated refund for the rest of the term I paid for? I really don’t want to leave this service but I’m without service

Try downgrading to a previous version

Do you have a link to the last working version?

Same here. I’ve experimented with multiple versions of their app. I had no trouble ever with the Google One VPN app or service. Pia’s has not worked well for me since I started using it a couple months ago.

I’m ready to see if they’ll send me a prorated refund. Their service doesn’t work well and they are not responsive in talking about or fixing it

The problem is, their page of previous client versions doesn’t include APKs: https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/pages/changelog

And their APK download link only downloads the most recent version: https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/installer/download_installer_android

You can try their Github, but I don’t see anything before 4.0: https://github.com/pia-foss

The only chance of downgrading would be to find it on an APK website or ask someone to send you an older version. But neither of those options can be considered a good idea

Ya, I sent you a chat request

I’ve experimented with different versions now. Intermittent problems across all of them. Thank you though for trying to help me
