Andrew Zarian says that negotiations between AEW and WBD are going well, Tony Khan is very optimistic, and that a third party is doing the negotiations.
B-but WWE4Eva on twitter said AEW is dying???
AEW dropping the ball not having their entire catalog on a streaming service. I would love to check out content before 2022.
Well that’s a good thing
Wait, I thought AEW was going out of business, and a bunch of talent were trying to leave. I’ll admit that my interests in AEW have waned in the last 6 months, but this whole notation that AEW is dead/dying is ridiculous.
if the rumors about WB owning a stake in AEW is true than why wouldn’t they want the shows to keep going right ? at this point i’d feel like tony would even pay to stay on air as well.
Great for a start up t-shirt company that is afraid of the grind
I mean Tony Khan is always very optimistic about everything and everything is always going well. So don’t read too much into this. Kinda strange that they don’t have a deal done when the current one expires in like 7 months or so.
Andrew Zarian of the mat men podcast!
This is apparently a bad faith argument about attendance numbers, it’s ok to say things aren’t going well, pretending like things are on an upswing isn’t realistic when even the bigger fans of the brand will admit things aren’t going ideally
But… but… what about those pics of the hard cam side that deliberately misrepresent the size of the crowd?
It’s going so bad they won’t talk to Tony🤡 anymore so they had to hire a third party to break the bad news to Tony🤡.
Hop off and accept there attendance is poor doesn’t mean the product is bad
It’s not as convenient as a proper US version but a VPN and TrillerTV gets you the whole back catalog and the live shows with the commentators during commercial breaks which are sometimes hilarious
Always seemed like TK was playing the long game with ROH and the AEW library. Sometimes his incessant need to “stay the course” drives us fans nuts but it’s gonna be crazy if it pays off and everything ends up on Max + ROH finally on TV.
You could argue that dropping the ball would be to give up their streaming rights for peanuts instead of waiting for one that will get them paid.
Or start uploading full matches to YouTube like WWE does
Pretty unrealistic to land a streaming service before a new overall TV deal is in place - particularly if it’s going to be with WBD because it’ll likely be a package deal.
I’d kill to have AEW on Max, especially with Max already being bundled through my AT&T phone plan.
one thing that would cost a lot is royalties for all the artists songs used as entrances ie. Orange , Moxley, etc. i’m sure that would cost a pretty penny
